We went to the Zoo

Hippos can close their ears when they are under the water.  The hippo's nose is next to the mouth.  The hippo has big teeth so it can bite the food.  They have a big mouth so that they can eat lots of food.  They like to put mud on their skin to keep them cool.  Nga Williams.  Room 9

    You have learnt a lot of facts about hippos, Nga - well done! Did you know that hippos can open their mouths wide enough to bite a huge barrel?!
