Swim Magic by Manuae

Today Room 9 was getting ready to walk to the G.I pools.First of all Ms Joyce told the swimmers to put our togs on then put our  uniform back on top of our togs.Once all the swimmers were all ready to go we lined.
When we were all lined up we started walking down to the school gates then Ms Joyce opened the gates so we could go out.
We were walking near a big big road with lots of busy cars.When we  arrived at the crossing there was no cars so the whole class crossed the road. Very soon we saw the  G.I pools.

I was so excited to see the G.I pools again.I have not been to the G.I pools for a very long time.We walked though the drive way and towards the door.

When we arrived at the door Ms Joyce asked us nicely to be quiet while we were walking though the  office.Then we walked and sat down on the the floor.Then Room 10 came out of the pool and went to get changed.

Ms Joyce told us to take off our uniform because we had our togs on under our uniform.We had to hop in the pool where our instructors said hello to us.

The instructor said that we were going to do free style. The instructor said that I was excellent at doing free styles. We saw Room 8 arrive at the pool.

We did one more activity then the instructor gave us a high five and we hoped out so Room 8 could have their  swimming time. I went and had a shower and I brought a bottle of body wash. I was ready to go then everyone was ready to go so we  started walking back to school.

I was so looking forward to having  morning tea after all the exercise.

                                                
                                         

Fun Swimming

Rm 9 students walked to the  G.I. swimming pools in the freezing, cold, rainy,cloudy and windy weather. A little while later Rm 9 students finally got inside the  building. When we walked inside we waited for Rm 10 to finish their session so that we could go swimming  with the swimming instructors. I had lots of fun swimming and learning new skills  in the water.

Let's Go 2012

Room 9 is looking forward to a new year of fun, learning and growing.  We are all going to be very busy and hope to have a great year.  We also welcome Whea Grace who is our awesome Teacher Aide and Mrs Strang who often comes to our class to teach.

We went to the Zoo

Hippos can close their ears when they are under the water.  The hippo's nose is next to the mouth.  The hippo has big teeth so it can bite the food.  They have a big mouth so that they can eat lots of food.  They like to put mud on their skin to keep them cool.  Nga Williams.  Room 9

The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Room 9 has been learning how to construct a Narrative.  We have been learning the structure of a Narrative so that we can begin to learn how to tell great stories.

Lavaeda began like this  -  One day there were three billy goats Gruff who wanted.
 to go to the other side of the hill. 

Levi continues...  The three billy goats Gruff wanted to cross the bridge but the Troll didn't want them to

Lose says.... They all wanted to go to the hill across the bridge because there was lovely sweet grass to eat.

Levi G says....  The little billy goat went to the bridge....."Who's that on MY BRIDGE!" said the Troll.  "It's me" said the goat.

Sifila says.....  The Troll said, "I will GOBBLE you up!"  "Don't eat me!  My big brother is going to come" said the little goat.  The the Troll said, "SO, off you go."

Taki says.... The middle sized goat cam to eat the grass.

Timote quips....  Then the Troll said, "Who's that coming over MY BRIDGE!"  "It's me the middle goat"  The Troll said, "I want to gobble you up!"

Mackenzie says...  The middle billy goat said, "No, no, no!  You can eat my big brother, he's coming soon. 

Fetu says.....   So she ran over the bridge and ate the sweet grass with little billy goat Gruff.

Fusi ....  Next, the bib big brother cam onto the bridge and he heard the Troll say, "Who is going over MY BRIDGE!"

Etai concludes....  So the big billy goat Gruff put his head straight and butted him over the bridge because was a mean old Troll!!

Netball Tournament

Hey, what a great day we had at the netball.  The weather was good.  There were not injuries.  We saw some great netball being played.  Our teams did themselves proud even though they had a few losses they both won their last game.  A big thanks to Jess who helped out and to Mrs Maruariki who did a great job helping with coaching and organizing.  Well done everybody. Now we look forward to the rugby.
